How internal events boost employee engagement
With only 48% of employees in the UK feeling engaged at work, according to a Qualtrics report, and productivity in the UK 15% lower than in the rest of the EU (OBR), employee engagement is more than just an industry buzz word, it is an internal business measurement that indicates not only employee performance but the performance of the business.
Having a more engaged workforce means increased job satisfaction for employees and in turn productivity for the company. According to a study by Deloitte University Press, employee engagement is a company’s number one challenge. This is backed by 51% of business leaders looking at the employee experience being just as relevant to business as the consumer experience (Accenture). Internal events are a powerful way to inspire and motivate employees and create meaningful two-way dialogue.
Creating a sense of togetherness
If your business has a large number of employees or is split over different premises or branches, bringing everyone together for an event creates a sense of unity. Enabling people to meet other colleagues and establish new working relationships gives them a sense of mission and purpose.

Embedding company culture
Your company culture needs to be more than a few inspirational posters on a wall, businesses need to practice what they preach, and an employee event can be a great way to bring your brand to life and let your employees ‘feel’ the company they work for.
Reward and recognition
The second biggest factor for employee engagement after a respect of work-life balance, was receiving recognition for their input. Annual company awards are a great way to give back to employees who are giving it their all and motivate others to do that same.
