Senior Warehouse Technician
As Senior Warehouse Technician you will be responsible for supporting in the day to day running of the Warehouse department, working in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager to ensure it functions to the highest possible standard. You will support other members of the Warehouse team with guidance as and when required. You will report directly to the Warehouse Manager.
Your responsibilities will include;
General day to day
• Working alongside the team to ensure project elements are achieved. (e.g. equipment, set, branding etc.) equipment is returned and checked back into stock following the goods in procedures.
• As a senior member of the warehouse team, you will lead in the completion of the daily tasks.
• You will be working on the shop floor in a hands-on role supporting the team with the functionality of the warehouse.
• Communicate with the Warehouse Manager updating the progress of the daily tasks.
• You will raise to the Warehouse Manager any issues that arise that may have an impact on the day to day running of the warehouse.
• As an experienced member of staff, you will be expected to support in mentoring and developing other team members (whether existing or new) by providing guidance, training, assistance and advice.
Equipment inventory and repairs (HireTrack)
• Maintaining the company’s inventory of equipment using the HireTrack system.
• Ensure that all equipment is scanned in/out of our HireTrack for traceability of stock.
• Monitoring and investigate/resolve all items on the ‘Late Returns’ list.
• Have the responsibility for the servicing and maintenance of the company’s inventory of AV production equipment including set structures.
• Working with other members of the Warehouse team to keep an accurate log of all equipment entering and exiting the repair bay. This will be logged onto the HireTrack system documenting the fault and any investigation/remedial work carried out.
• Working alongside members of the Warehouse team to ensure that all equipment repairs are carried out quickly and efficiently to minimise downtime.
• You will work with other members of the warehouse team to identify equipment that it is not viable to repair.
• Notifying the Warehouse Manager of any issues relating to equipment repairs including parts to be ordered or external repairs required.
Stock check and equipment testing
• Consumable stock levels are checked each week and maintained at levels in accordance with company policy/guidance – to avoid shortages or situations where our supply is exhausted.
• Stock checks of the company’s equipment and consumables are carried out twice per year.
• Support the Warehouse Manager with maintenance of the Organisations ISO 45001 Certification. (e.g. annual PAT & LOLER testing/inspections & meeting times frames set)
• Equipment inspections are performed and documented e.g. ladder, staging etc.
• Updating the Warehouse Manager of any issues arising from equipment testing, inspections and stock checks.
Software licences & firmware updates
• Maintain a software licence register to enable anyone to identify which licences are assigned to which device, with the ability to manage licence activations.
• Identifying where new/additional software licences are required, informing Warehouse Manager to procure and deploy the necessary licences.
• Updating equipment firmware to ensure we are running the most up to date system.
Health and safety
• Ensure the team adhere to the Health and Safety regulations including but not limited to wearing of PPE.
• Practise of good housekeeping within the Warehouse and adjoining areas.
• Support the Warehouse Manager with maintenance of the Organisations ISO 45001 Certification.
Environmental Aspects
• Support the Warehouse Manager with the maintenance of the Organisations ISO 14001 Certification.
Fleet management
• Be responsible for the performance of weekly checks on all vehicles in line with company policy/guidance.
• Ensuring all drivers prior to using a vehicle have completed the appropriate paperwork.
• All vehicles are kept clean – inside and out.
• Notify the Warehouse Manager of any issues relating to fleet management.
• Support the Warehouse Manager with meeting drivers out of hours.
Security and out of hours
• As part of the warehouse team will be responsible for ensuring fire exits are clear and locked at the end of each day.
• Complying with all security policies/guidance including setting alarms, using roller shutter doors, storing keys in the safe etc.
Skills & experiences required;
Essential:
• Have a minimum of three years’ experience within both a warehouse environment and the events industry.
• You should be able to communicate effectively and influence behaviour within the Warehouse team.
• You should be able to work well under pressure, using your own initiative and as part of a team.
• Full UK Driving license.
Beneficial but not essential:
• PAT testing certification.
• Drivers C1 license.
• LOLER certification.
• Good understanding of Microsoft applications.
