IRIS World is the annual accountancy conference held by IRIS Software Group; the events take place in London, Manchester and Glasgow, and welcome over 1,000 accountants from across the country to gain valuable insights into the changes facing the industry.

Hosted in various locations during October, the focus of the 2018 was to help accountants thrive in the digital economy, as well as unveil further products and services to make accountants lives simpler, more effective and more productive. The conferences were followed by the IRIS Customer Awards evening, celebrating and recognising success and best practice.

As a significant event in its company calendar, IRIS required an agency that understood the core objectives to create an event that inspired, informed and engaged delegates. Corporate Events was selected after a competitive pitch process and trusted to deliver the three events to IRIS’ high expectations.


The creative concept for the event centred around the key theme of optimism. The conference content focused on GDPR and Making Tax Digital narratives, and how the accountancy profession can utilise IRIS solutions to their full potential. To bring a visible dynamic to the theme, Corporate Events created a visual representation for the event’s tagline that encapsulated embracing a digital future with a clear vision: ‘Thriving in a Digital Economy’.

To convey the spirit of each event, a large widescreen set was used, flanked either side by LED pillars representing the iconic IRIS logo. Corporate Events designed the bespoke stage so it could be adapted for each venue: these were Twickenham Stadium (Live Room) London, The Lowry (Compass Room) Manchester, and Westerwood Hotel (Carrick Suite) Glasgow. This was in response to a key event objective for IRIS – to ensure each venue maintained the consistency of the delegate experience.

Alongside the full AV provision and crew, Corporate Events also provided the creative content for the event. This included a consistent look and feel across PowerPoint presentations, sponsor loop and an opening sting, bringing to life the creative concept with a clean infographic style, set against a futuristic digital background.



All three events were delivered successfully, particularly in London as the event was substantially oversubscribed. Corporate Events worked closely with IRIS to organise breakout rooms linked to the main auditorium which allowed all participants to experience the event. A recognised part of their CPD, delegate feedback showed they found the day ‘amazing and informative’.
