IGD Glitter Ball

Background

Now in its 40th year, the IGD Glitter Ball is ‘THE’ Christmas party for the food and grocery industry attracting hundreds of decision makers for an evening of networking and entertainment. Each year the event’s revenue goes towards Feeding Britain’s Future, IGD’s charitable initiative that is changing the lives of thousands of young people in the UK. The event also offers recognition for team members and numerous networking opportunities for industry kicking off the Christmas season. Our brief was to design an event that fully encompassed a party atmosphere that everyone could enjoy.

Outcome

Every element of the event production was designed around the fire and ice theme. A winter wonderland welcomed guests into the event with white LED furniture, sparkling Christmas trees and snowflakes hanging from the windows, whilst the main ballroom was flooded with red and yellow lighting and smoke geysers welcomed the entertainment and presenters onto the stage. The event was jam-packed with entertainment, charity activities and networking opportunities. A heads and tails game and silent auction were hosted to engage the audience with IGD’s charity initiative and the entertainment included a string quartet, party band as well as a DJ who played live throughout the evening, creating the party atmosphere the client was after. To top the evening off Rick Astley’s band headlined the night making it an event to remember for IGD’s guests
