The Grocer Food & Drink Awards

Background

Launched in 2006, The Grocer Own Label Food & Drink Awards are in their 11th year, recognising and rewarding outstanding products within the own-label category. As a long standing client, William Reed appointed the team at Corporate Events to produce the 2016 event for the fifth consecutive year.

Solution

The awards are unique in the fact that there are 350 finalists over 70 awards categories at the lunchtime ceremony. This results in a huge amount of content to fit into a relatively small amount of time. With so much going on, when looking at the design of the set and stage and the creation of the onscreen content, it was more important than ever to keep the audience engaged throughout. We used the expertise of our in-house studio team to create a vibrant and colourful event ID that really bought the set and the onscreen content to life. The creative use of lighting complimented the eye-catching branding and accentuated the bespoke curved set panels, whilst multi coloured up lighters and moving lights transformed the look and feel of the overall space.

Outcome

The awards are some of the most sought after in the industry and in order to win companies must have earned the endorsement of both consumers and experts across categories in every area of the food and drink sector. Blur Bassist Alex James, owner of Alex James Presents which produces a selection of Artisan Cheeses hosted the afternoon of awards. With his background and experience within the industry as well as his A-list status, he was the perfect host.
