Bounce Video approached Corporate Events to provide full live streaming of a virtual awards ceremony for their client, at a prestigious London venue that Corporate Events turned into a private broadcast studio.
Due to the restrictions arising from Covid-19, the usual event format could not take place and so for the first time the Awards would be streamed online via a free-to-watch broadcast.
Bounce Video were keen to utilise and enhance the characteristics of the venue and its rustic charm, whilst providing the quality technology required to deliver a seamless virtual event.
A multi-camera set-up from Bounce Video allowed for a more in-depth experience for viewers, which captured the Hosts, Sponsors and Winners throughout.
Our Production Team installed architectural and intelligent lighting including staggered AX1 battens to add depth to the set, whilst 2 Perspex lecterns were provided for the Hosts and a simple leather-grain surround.
The E2 system controlled all content, delivering the opening and key sponsor VT’s throughout the evening. Our team of vision mixers managed the various different streams, to ensure a smooth final show, with a designated technician managing stream quality control and bringing in the 11 winners from remote locations for acceptance speeches – all within a 25-minute period.
With a total of 33 potential winners, all tuning in remotely, we had to identify any issues with uploads or streaming before the event, as well as carrying out tests for each individual line, to ensure the authenticity of the live winner announcements.
Lifesize was the platform used to call the winners at home, before they are then welcomed into the central stream that was cascaded out onto YouTube Premier and each potential winner was briefed to be available in a 5minutes window prior to their category being announced to ensure they were ready to receive a call.
We provided links to live calls to all 11 winners and our streaming technician then gave each individual a phone call 60 seconds prior to full live, to ensure the winners were ready and available on the call that would bring them in live to the main stream out to all viewers. This mobile phone call was implemented to safeguard against any movement away from the schedule put in place pre-event.
The Awards were hosted live by Anna Botting, news presenter with Sky News and campaigner and public speaker David Challen via YouTube Premier, with over 600 viewers tuning in.
Pre-recorded sponsor videos and VT’s were streamed, and winners delivered their acceptance speeches live, followed by real-time interactions with the Hosts.
Our client said, “I just wanted to say a HUGE thanks for your amazing work on the virtual Awards last night. The client has asked me to pass on their thanks to you all. They are so happy and have been flooded with praise on Twitter and in emails!”
