Make It Blue at Great Western Hospital
Overview
As part of the national Clap For Our Carers campaign, we approached The Great Western Hospital Foundation Trust in Swindon and produced a lighting and projection show as part of a heartfelt thank you to the NHS during the Covid19 pandemic, in partnership with local suppliers Swindon PA Hire and WGS Power and Lighting.
CE has been part of Swindon for almost 25 years and we were honoured to have been able to give something back to our local NHS Trust, the staff and patients and be a part of the event industries #MakeItBlue campaign.
Solution
A variety of lighting was used to generate a rainbow of colour across the building and within glass stairwells, that could be seen across the M4 and dual carriageways around Swindon, whilst messages of thanks and hope were projected across the front of the building.
All of this was live streamed across two Facebook Live platforms, and was viewed over forty thousand times, whilst social media was flooded with even more messages of thanks and hope for the NHS Trust.
Video was led by Stephen Makin and photography was provided by Paul Atkinson and Elmar Rubio, who all worked together to provide amazing imagery and video for the Trust.
Across the evening a message of hope was also displayed across a 44tonne articulated lorry provided by B&Q in support of the NHS Trust. Fillerz Sandwich Bar and Café from Swindon town centre provided free food and drink to the event crew in support of the NHS.
Outcome
Cat Newman, Associate Director of Fundraising said, “We were so thrilled to have been approached by Corporate Events for this amazing light show on the side of our hospital. It was a really lovely opportunity for us to thank all our staff for the incredible work, and our patients and the local community for their continued support.”
