Overview

The Mortgage Strategy Awards, organised by emap (Metropolis International Group Ltd), is held once a year in the Great Room at the Grosvenor House in London. Widely recognised as the Oscars of the industry, this is a must-attend event in the mortgage calendar.

This year was an exciting edition as the MSA team was launching their new event branding. Having worked with this client for several years, our goal is always to elevate the set and exceed expectations each year. Using their fresh look this time provided a fantastic opportunity to achieve that aim!

Solution

Over the past few years, the Mortgage Strategy Awards set has featured a single large LED wall, stretching impactful content across the stage. This year we approached the set design in a different way to keep things fresh, still retailing the ultra-modern look of LED, however splitting it into three – creating a triple LED surface. The multi-screen display enabled us to play with the content and enhance the dynamism of information delivery. The main content was showcased on the larger two side LED screens, while the smaller central section highlighted sponsors and category names during the shortlists and winners reveal, ensuring maximum impact and exposure throughout.

To echo the neon batons of the dramatic branding and add an extra layer of magic, we framed the screens with light fittings to create floating framework. Below the screens, we added a line of LED batons, and on either side, we designed bespoke lighting fixtures with LED batons that were brought forward in the room at an angle to add some depth to the set. The technology of these lights allowed us to be very creative, with capabilities such as pulsing, chasing, sparkling and more.

Ultimately, our goal was to create an impressive set with a high-end event production that seamlessly incorporated the new branding into the overall design. The design was impactful and truly did justice to the dramatic event branding!

Outcome

Our clients said “CE did an amazing job at bringing our new branding to life, through the set design, slide deck and all the onscreen graphics; they really thought about how it could be incorporated into every element. The end result was a vibrant, triple LED wall which really lent itself to the colours and features of the new branding and it looked really effective on the night! We worked closely with our dedicated project manager who led the planning for the event, with excellent communication, organisation and support from the offset and throughout. The rest of the team were also, once again, really great to work with! Very professional, flexible and always happy to help and provide support.”
